    Valley Automation, Inc. welcomes applicants to apply for the role of Sr. Electrical Project Engineer.  As a senior member of our team candidates will be expected to present themselves and operate with the highest level of professionalism.  Qualified candidates will be detail oriented, creative and willing to collaborate with engineers, customers and contractors.  The selected applicant will be expected to provide design and project management expertise for electrical/control systems projects.  They should be able to design and program PLC, HMI, VFD and Servo systems.  In addition to control systems, the position requires detailed analysis of customer power distribution systems as related to connection, load calculations and supervision of installations to follow code requirements.  The chosen candidate must maintain high level documentation regarding project activities and progress to include creating and editing electrical CAD drawings. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractor relationships and have extensive knowledge of industrial safety regulations to oversee staff and contractor activities for a safe work environment.   

     

    Experience: 

    Minimum five (5) years Electrical Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing corporate environment.  

    Experience with Rockwell PLC and HMIs required. 

    Project management experience. 

    Experience managing contractor relationships. 

    Experience with power distribution, load connections, and NEC.  

    Knowledge of general networking, control system concepts and operations is a plus.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Develop controls system concepts and transfer these into functional, cost-effective hardware and software solutions. 

    • Develop bills-of-material, CAD drawings, user manual information, etc… 

    • Design and support the fabrication and assembly of enclosures/ panels 

    • Program and debug industrial PC / PLC and HMI programming (preference will be given to candidates with Rockwell Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, GE, Omron experience). 

    • Training on software systems to be provided. Program and support various SCADA and HMI platforms (Ignition, Factory Talk View, Cimplicity, iFix, Wonderware). 

    • Experience with or willingness to learn Vision systems to complement controls skills. 

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. 

    • Proficiency with Microsoft office products required. 

    • Provide on-site debugging, commissioning, service call, startup and customer training. 

    • Provide project engineering, management and leadership of assigned projects. 

    • Provide direct interaction with clients in support of projects and customer requirements. 

    • Provide direct supervision as required to junior staff members for professional development. 

     

    Experience:

    Employment position is full time and includes a competitive salary and full benefits package. 

     

    The panel builder’s primary responsibilities will be assembling, wiring and terminating industrial control panels to print including the layout and physically mounting devices to back panels with appropriate labeling.  The panel builder will also perform quality checks on electrical panel and wire terminations and test electrical equipment.  They will then prepare the panel for installation and may be required to travel to installation sites to help with the installation process or trouble shoot problems as necessary.  The panel builder will need to be detail oriented and a self-starter so that they can meet deadlines and provide quality results.  It is also important that the panel builder is a team player and is willing to participate in any miscellaneous duties assigned from time to time, in the shop or elsewhere
